Quebec appeal court sets high threshold for civil liability cases involving parental authority
The Quebec Court of Appeal has overturned a decision that ordered a father to pay $30,000 in damages for parental alienation, despite ruling that parents in “exceptional and unequivocal” situations can be held liable under civil law in the course of exercising their parental authority.
