Judge Ronda van der Hoek and Judge D. Shane Russell have been named associate chief judges, who can, in addition to hearing matters in court, assist the chief judge with responsibilities related to the administration of the Nova Scotia Provincial Court.

In part one of this series, we presented the latest data from Tribunals Ontario’s website about the lengthy delays facing landlords and tenants at Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) and the backlog of over 53,000 applications. We also put the situation at the LTB in the context of other tribunals that are failing at Tribunals Ontario, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, where the backlog has more than doubled.

Feds seek Parliamentary approval to spend $28 million more on legal aid for immigrants & refugees
With the coming two-year anniversary of Russia’s country-wide invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, the federal Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced it is providing Pro Bono Ontario with nearly half a million dollars to help war-displaced Ukrainians with their immigration-related legal problems.
