Clarification: Legal Aid Ontario commits $850,000 toward new clinic for black community

By Amanda Jerome ( October 18, 2017, 1:13 PM EDT) -- Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) is committed to the establishment of a new legal clinic for the black community after an audit revealed that the African Canadian Legal Clinic was mismanaging funds. According to LAO, the ACLC has applied for reconsideration of the decision to defund its clinic. A decision will be made by legal aid on this matter one month from Oct. 1. Until that time, the ACLC is still receiving funding from legal aid. Full story here....
