Ontario names 27 new justices of the peace

Law360 Canada (June 30, 2026, 1:19 PM EDT) -- The Ontario government has appointed 27 new justices of the peace to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective July 8, 2026.
According to the province, the appointees include:
- Harry Adamidis, a tribunal member at the Licence Appeal Tribunal, will sit in Toronto.
- Stephen Armes, director of Canadian operations at Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations, will sit in Orangeville.
- Rishi Singh Bhasin, a lawyer and former duty counsel, will sit in Brampton.
- Georgina Blanas, a member of the Licence Appeal Tribunal, will sit in Oshawa.
- Julie Broderick, an adjudicator at the Landlord and Tenant Board, will sit in Brantford.
- Desta Ann Buswa, vice-principal of Keewaytinook Internet High School, will sit in Sioux Lookout.
- John Michael Carrabs, a staff sergeant with Peel Regional Police, will sit in Brampton.
- Carm Cataldo, a detective sergeant with the Niagara Regional Police Service, will sit in Hamilton.
- Matthew Chandy, director of Build Waterloo Region at the Region of Waterloo, will sit in Kitchener.
- Simbert Charles, a sergeant with the Toronto Police Service, will sit in a bilingual position in Cornwall.
- Tina Chhokar-Tathgar, regional director of Community Correctional Services for the Central Region at the Ministry of the Solicitor General, will sit in Brampton.
- Steven DuBarry, director of DuBarry Consulting Group Inc., will sit in London.
- Nicholas Fatsis, a case management coordinator with the Ministry of the Attorney General, will sit in Kitchener.
- Vincent Foy, a senior investigator at the University of Ottawa, will sit in a bilingual position in Cornwall.
- Henry Andrew Harris, vice-chair of the Licence Appeal Tribunal, will sit in Toronto.
- Gavin Jansz, a staff sergeant with the Toronto Police Service, will sit in Toronto.
- Jennifer Marks, deputy superintendent of programs at Maplehurst Correctional Complex, will sit in Hamilton.
- William McNair, a vice-chair of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, will sit in Ottawa.
- Diane Newby-Hector, a finance director at York University, will sit in Orangeville.
- Jennifer Northcote, associate dean of Centennial College’s Office Administration and Legal programs, will sit in Toronto.
- Mahad Nur, manager in Health Protection at Toronto Public Health, will sit in Brampton.
- Christopher Pang, director of roster management at Legal Aid Ontario, will sit in a bilingual position in Oshawa.
- Cassie Richardson, a psychotherapist at Loyalist College, will sit in Belleville.
- Pietro Scaramuzzo, a probation and parole officer with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, will sit in Brampton.
- Katie Schulz, board chair of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, will sit in Brantford.
- Ramanan Senthilmurugan, director of credit card servicing at Community Trust Company, will sit in Oshawa.
- Nicholas Todd, a detective constable with the Ontario Provincial Police, will sit in Belleville.
