The plaintiff sought damages from the defendant law firm and Proudfoot, its managing partner, for constructive dismissal. The plaintiff was an associate with the law firm from 2014 to 2016 when he was asked, or required, in an annual performance review meeting with Proudfoot, to go on a disability leave to obtain medical treatment. Prior to their meeting, the plaintiff and Proudfoot had little interaction with each other. In 2015, the plaintiff had been advised of the firm’s concerns about his hours and time management. Prior to the meeting, the plaintiff wrote a memo to the firm, which outlined his struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder, his productivity and conflicts with coworkers....
