Three dogs owned by the respondents attacked and killed an elderly woman in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood in Calgary. The City of Calgary sought to declare the dogs dangerous and be humanely euthanized. The City submitted the Court of King’s Bench had inherent jurisdiction to hear matters under the DDA.
