Production of psychiatric report on new evidence motion ordered, panel to assess privacy interest

By Amanda Jerome (January 19, 2023, 1:09 PM EST) -- The Court of Appeal for Ontario has ordered the “production of a psychiatric assessment” to assist a fresh evidence motion brought by a co-accused appealing a terrorism conviction. The court ordered the assessment be provided to the panel of judges, so they can determine “whether the assessment should be ordered produced to the parties and, if so, what steps should be taken to mitigate the impact” on privacy interests....
