Bad faith registration: Must have singular purpose

The stated purpose of s. 18(1)(e) of the Trademarks Act, RSC 1985, C. T-13, which introduces the bad faith ground, is to prevent abuse of the trademark regime and impede the registration of trademarks where the registrant intends only to extract value from preventing others from using the trademark....
