Law360 Canada (July 14, 2023, 12:44 PM EDT) -- Appeal by Abdullahi from Ontario Court of Appeal dismissing his appeal challenging the jury instructions on the existence of a criminal organization under Criminal Code, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-46. The trial judge merely recited the Criminal Code’s definition of criminal organization. The majority concluded that, viewing the charge in light of the evidence, the closing arguments of counsel, and the lack of objection by defence counsel, the jury was properly equipped with respect to the requirement of structure and continuity, and so there was no error of law in the jury instructions....
