Sentencing is not an easy job

Should sentences be consecutive or concurrent? How can the court express denunciation, especially when a crime involves firearms that are becoming problematic in the community? What about rehabilitation? What weight should be given to a youthful accused who experienced difficulties such as racism growing up? Should enhanced credit be afforded to persons enduring difficult times in jail awaiting trial?...
