Decriminalization in B.C. of personal-use drug possession ends Sept. 18 in child-focused spaces

By Cristin Schmitz (September 15, 2023, 11:48 AM EDT) -- Adults in British Columbia who possess, for personal use, up to 2.5 grams of such illegal drugs as heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, will no longer qualify for an "exemption" from prosecution when they possess such drugs around outdoor playgrounds, skate parks, spray pools and wading pools, Health Canada and the British Columbia government jointly announced....
