Law360 Canada (April 20, 2026, 2:43 PM EDT) -- The University of Windsor has established the Vivian Ntiri Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund in honour of Vivian Ntiri, a member of the bars of Ontario and Saskatchewan, who died in June 2025.

Ntiri was a Dual JD graduate of the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy (2017) and earned an MBA from McMaster University in 2024. She was licensed in Saskatchewan, Ontario and New York.

She was known for her commitment to mentorship, equity and diversity in the legal profession. Ntiri served on the national executive of the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada and was active with the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, where she supported initiatives to advance Black legal professionals.

The scholarship will support a full-time Dual JD student at Windsor Law who demonstrates financial need, academic excellence, involvement in the Black community, and an interest in environmental, mining or privacy law.

The university is seeking to raise $26,000 to establish the endowment. To date, $14,000 has been raised. Donations can be made here.

A fundraising event — the inaugural Vivian Ntiri Memorial Walk/Run — will be held June 27, 2026, at Downsview Park in Toronto. The event includes a 5K walk, 5K run, 10K run and half-marathon.

More information and registration details are available online.
