Commissioner highlights importance of privacy breach reporting in Bill C-25

While Dufresne noted that Bill C-25 would “improve the current regime” by introducing privacy-protection obligations for political parties, he also recommended additional elements “necessary to enhance protections for the personal information of electors, including requirements to obtain consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information and breach reporting to an independent regulator.”...
