Alicia Kennedy has joined
Wagners Law Firm in Halifax, where she will lead the firm’s sexual assault and abuse litigation practice.
According to the firm, Kennedy brings experience in both criminal prosecution and survivor-focused advocacy. Before joining Wagners, she served as a Crown attorney with the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service, where she prosecuted a range of cases, including sexual assault matters.
She also worked with Nova Scotia Legal Aid as the first staff lawyer in its Sexual Offences Legal Representation program, providing independent legal advice and representation to survivors throughout the criminal justice process.
In addition to her practice, Kennedy teaches at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she instructs the course Law of Sexual Offences.
“Victims of sexual violence face incredible barriers when they try to seek justice, and it is my privilege to assist them as they navigate these systems,” said Kennedy in a statement.
