By Evert Akkerman ( April 9, 2021, 11:16 AM EDT) -- For several years, I struggled with the decision of what to do once I completed high school. I really had no idea. By the time I was 17 and still undecided, my parents got a great tip from a friend: she had sent her son to this marvelous assessment centre in Amsterdam, which shall remain nameless, as I’ve forgotten its name after so many years. It was probably the Dutch Institute for Aimless Adolescents or something. This place had developed a fail-safe, battle-tested system; they would put you through their custom grinder and then make a definitive judgment on your attitude, aptitude and altitude. Once you came back out at the other end, the ideal program would pop out of the printer. Awesome....
