Bill C-78 brings changes that every family law lawyer should know about

It is how you say it,” seems to be the most noticeable theme in the proposed amendments to the Divorce Act legislation, introduced to Parliament through Bill C-78. The proposed changes which, for example, try to replace terms such as “child custody” with “parenting time” are meant to set a conciliatory tone and bring parents together. More importantly, they attempt to treat children as free standing, deserving and deciding factors in every Canadian custody litigation; sorry, I mean “parenting time” litigation....
