By Ron Shulman ( March 29, 2022, 3:14 PM EDT) -- The Family Responsibility Office (or FRO) is a creature of statute, with an important duty to the public: To ensure that child and spousal support orders are enforced. Under the regime created by the Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act,1996 S.O. 1996, C. 31 (FRSAEA), all Ontario child and spousal support orders are automatically filed with the FRO for enforcement. It is the duty of the FRO, through its director, to enforce those orders and pay the amounts collected, to the persons to whom they are owed (FRSAEA, ss. 5, 6 and 7)....
