By David Tobin ( August 12, 2022, 3:07 PM EDT) -- A saying often repeated by dog owners, lawyers and judges is, “An order is an order, not a suggestion.” Yet sometimes it can feel as though only the dog owner understands the importance of obeying orders. Likewise, family law litigants also ignore orders with seemingly no consequences. In these circumstances a party can feel helpless and defeated. If a court cannot compel a party to do something, then how can the other party expect that they will be successful? (A doggie treat is not an option)....
