Ahluwalia, 2022 ONSC 1303, a decision which had the potential to change the landscape of family law in Ontario by creating a new tort of family violence. In this decision, Justice Mandhane ordered that the appellant pay his respondent wife $150,000 in damages to compensate her for years of physical, financial and verbal abuse during their marriage.
