Jay Ralston chosen to lead OTLA

Law360 Canada (May 8, 2026, 11:45 AM EDT) -- The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) has elected
K. Jay Ralston as its president for the 2026–27 term.
According to the association, Ralston is a partner at
MRPC Law with more than 30 years of litigation experience. His practice focuses on personal injury, medical negligence, insurance disputes and commercial litigation.
A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, Ralston has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Ralston has been a member of OTLA since 1994 and has served on its board since 2013. He was elected vice-president in 2024.
In his new role, he will focus on access to justice and advocacy for injured individuals navigating the legal and insurance systems. “I am honoured to take on this role at a time when access to justice remains a critical issue for Ontarians,” said Ralston in the announcement.
Founded in 1991, OTLA represents more than 1,300 plaintiff lawyers, law clerks, articling students and law students.
