At age 6, Canada revoked my citizenship, despite my birth on Canadian soil to two Canadian-citizen parents. It took 47 years to reclaim my birthright, and when I finally did, it was as an immigrant. The United States — a country to which I never pledged allegiance — granted me citizenship. My own country denied me any say in my destiny....
