Law360 Canada (April 9, 2026, 5:00 PM EDT) -- Saskatchewan’s law society has listed several upcoming conferences, including one exploring the use of mediation and another highlighting the contribution of Asian legal professionals.

The listing, found on the Law Society of Saskatchewan’s Legal Sourcery web page, details conferences to be held over the course of April and May.

On April 13, the Canadian Bar Association Alberta Young Lawyers (North) Section will hold a virtual seminar on dealing with self-represented litigants — specifically, how to manage “procedural challenges,” maintain professionalism and advance a client’s interests in such settings.

On April 29, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Saskatchewan will host a two-part program on mediation and conflict resolution.

Part one runs April 29 to May 1, while part two runs May 20-22.

According to a separate information page, its delivery will be as an “in-person” event and take place in Saskatoon. (The specific location will be announced.)

Participants will learn of their own “perceptions, biases and attitudes, and how they impact others in conflict resolution.” They will also explore the “dynamics” of conflict and the challenges of negotiations, acquire tools for “active listening” and good communication, and learn to manage power imbalances and heightened emotions in conflict situations.

Another event will feature the May 1 kickoff of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) Western Annual Gala. With this, the Asian Canadian Lawyers Western Chapter will highlight the contributions of Asian legal professionals.

“This event will highlight the contributions of Asian Canadian legal professionals and bring together lawyers, law students and legal professionals for an evening of networking, celebration and community engagement,” states a description.

Additional details can be found on the FACL Western website.

On May 22 and 23, the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta will hold its annual congress. Legal professionals and students are invited to attend the event, which will feature a conference on the Labour Mobility Act, panels on family, criminal and penal law, and discussions on artificial intelligence.
